All of the top prognosticators are indicating a small down turn in the Canadian marketplace. It is our opinion that we will believe it when we see it! Yes, pricing was stable over the last six months of 2012, but I see a backlog of clients looking for good, clean, updated homes, who are ready with a check in hand.
Quality upgrades, such as kitchens and bathrooms, are still the number one item on most checklists. Just as important is a clean, well-maintained property.
We will see a strong start in 2013. Where home values go from there, unfortunately, is anyone's guess.
